วิสิทธิ์ กุลศิริ เป็นคนกรุงเทพโดยกำเนิดในยุค Gen-X
ความชื่นชอบในการถ่ายภาพของวิสิทธิ์อาจจะถ่ายทอดผ่าน DNA และความผูกพันคุ้นเคยที่เห็นปู่ที่เป็นช่างภาพหยิบจับกล้องและอุปกรณ์ตั้งแต่เยาว์วัย เมื่อมีกล้องถ่ายรูปเป็นของตัวเองวิสิทธิ์เริ่มจากบันทึกภาพสิ่งต่างๆ รอบตัว ครอบครัว ผู้คน เหตุการณ์ที่เกิดขึ้นในชีวิต ราวกับการจดบันทึกประจำวันด้วยภาพถ่าย จนในปี 2549 มีโอกาสเรียนทฤษฎีการถ่ายภาพด้วยฟิล์มขาวดำ-การล้างอัดภาพในห้องมืดเป็นเวลา 3 เดือนจากวิทยาลัยสารพัดช่างพระนคร หลังจากนั้นเข้าร่วมเวิร์คชอปด้านการถ่ายภาพแนวสารคดีกับกลุ่ม Shutter-J และ National Geographic ซึ่งนับเป็นจุดเริ่มต้นให้วิสิทธิ์ค้นพบตัวเองว่าชื่นชอบถ่ายภาพคน สนใจสังเกตและจับจังหวะพฤติกรรมของผู้คน เมื่อผสานกับลักษณะนิสัยส่วนตัวทำให้เกิดผลงานที่แฝงไปด้วยความสนุกสนาน
วิสิทธิ์เริ่มหันมาจริงจังกับการถ่ายภาพแนวสตรีท ในปี 2553 เริ่มด้วยการศึกษาข้อมูลจากหนังสือและอินเตอร์เน็ต และออกไปถ่ายรูปอย่างสม่ำเสมอเพื่อฝึกฝนพัฒนามุมมองของตัวเอง “ก่อนหน้านี้ผมชอบถ่ายภาพผู้คนแปลกหน้าอยู่แล้ว แต่ยังไม่รู้ว่าภาพที่เราถ่ายเข้าข่ายแนวสตรีท พอเริ่มจับทางได้ก็จริงจังและบ้ากับมันมาก รู้สึกมีความสุขกับการออกไปเดินถ่ายรูปตามติดชีวิตผู้คน เดินเท้า ขึ้นรถไฟฟ้า รถเมล์ ลงเรือ ลงรถไฟใต้ดิน ทำให้เราพบเจอเหตุการณ์ต่างๆ เจอคนที่น่าสนใจ บางครั้งก็รู้สึกว่าตัวเองช่างสอดรู้สอดเห็น เวลาเจอสิ่งที่สะดุดให้คิดต่อ เจอคนหรือสถานการณ์ที่น่าสนใจก็จะเกาะติด ตามเก็บจนมั่นใจว่าน่าจะได้ภาพที่ดีที่สุดหรือจนกว่าจะพอใจ เรียกได้ว่าไม่ไล่ไม่เลิก ต้องใช้ทั้งความกล้าและความพยายาม”
จากการทดลองและเรียนรู้ในสิ่งที่ชอบและค้นพบสิ่งที่เป็นตัวเองในระยะหนึ่ง ปัจจุบันวิสิทธิ์นำเสนอภาพถ่ายของชีวิตผู้คนในพื้นที่สาธารณะผ่านเลนส์กล้อง Rangefinder คู่ใจและเก็บบันทึกไว้ด้วยฟิล์มทั้งหมด ด้วยลักษณะนิสัยที่ชื่นชอบความสนุกสนาน อารมณ์ขัน เสียงหัวเราะ และความท้าทายทำให้ตัวตนเหล่านั้นสะท้อนออกมาอย่างชัดเจนในผลงาน
Visit Kulsiri was born in Bangkok. His passion in photography might come from his DNA and childhood memory because his grandfather is also a photographer. Back to when he got his first camera, he recorded everything around him, family, people, situations in life, as if he wrote his diary with photography. In 2006, he took a 3 month course in black and white film photography from Bangkok Polytechnic College. Then, he joined documentary photography workshops from Shutter-J Group & National Geographic and it was the important period because he found out that he loves taking photos, observing and capturing human behaviors. When his passion collaborates with his personality, interesting works emerge.
Visit began to have passion for street photography in 2010. He learned about it from books and internet sites and went out to take photos regularly to improve his vision. “I always love taking photos of strangers but I never know that my photos are considered to be street photography. When I started to know what it is, I was extremely serious and crazy about it. I’m happy to go out and take photos of people’s lives. I take BTS, bus, boat and subway because they allow me to experience different situations and meet interesting people. Sometimes, I think I am very nosy. When I find something that strikes me and make me think, or when I find an interesting person, I will keep following that until I’m sure I already get a best photo or until I think it is enough. If you don’t drive me off, I won’t give up. It takes courage and effort to do this job.”
After experimenting and learning about what he likes, he chose to use rangefinder camera lens and only record people’s lives in public spaces with film. His fun, humorous and adventurous personality clearly presented in his works.
